Deetz

Inspired by Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder's character in Beetlejuice) Amy Curry's new label Deetz is the new dark and quirky label to be seen in.

"The prints are dark in the sense that there are lots of skeletons, bugs and dramatic florals, but the colours are vibrant and fun."

"Currie trained at Heriot Watt university in Galashiels, Scotland, where she specialised in print - a signature that punctuates all of her designs. Upon leaving university, she joined AllSaints - leaving to freelance for brands including McQ and Lee Cooper. However, launching her own label was always a goal and the designer unveiled her first collection this month, an offering that has already been snapped up Harvey Nichols. The offering will land in stores in mid-January and has already attracted interest from US-based stockists."

What I love about Currie's collection is her prins.  Her designs are not about the cut.  The good- quality silk that she uses does the work for her.  These prints are what makes these garments special and what makes me want to wear them.

This dress is my favourite. With converse for the day and black suede courts for the night.

I have to point out that it is not just the clothes that I am admiring.  I love the simplicity and creativeness of the campaign. I'm looking forward to skipping off to Harvey Nicks to check this one out in the flesh... or in Deetz case, bones. #PunIntended
